Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

vi-IV-I-V

The same four chords, but they start you in the dark.

The Progression

The vi–IV–I–V is the melancholy sibling of the pop axis. It contains exactly the same chords as the I-V-vi-IV loop, but by beginning on the relative minor it reframes the whole cycle: the ear hears the vi as home, and the progression reads as a minor-key lament that keeps reaching toward, but never quite settling into, its major relative. The mood tilts immediately toward sorrow, resignation, or brooding intensity.

Because it starts in shadow, every subsequent chord feels like an attempt to climb out of it. The IV and I offer glimpses of light, but the closing V yanks the loop back to the top and the minor tonic reasserts itself. That perpetual, unresolved striving is what gives the progression its emotional pull — it sounds like longing that never gets what it wants.

Structure

Attribute Value

Character Melancholy, yearning, driving
Function Relative minor → Subdominant → Tonic → Dominant

In Practice

It saturates emotional pop, rock ballads, and film music — "Zombie," "Numb," "Save Tonight," and "Africa" all lean on this darker rotation. Songwriters reach for it when a lyric needs weight or vulnerability, exploiting the fact that listeners recognize the axis chords while feeling an entirely different mood. It is a direct rotation of the I-V-vi-IV and shares its family with the Fifties Progression.
