kennethreitz ce93f429a2 Add Knowledge: the vault's reference shelf, crosslinked across the site
Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

Obsidian

The mirror shows what the eye refuses.

The Stone

Obsidian is not a crystal at all but a glass — lava cooled so quickly that its atoms never had time to arrange themselves into a lattice. The result is a glossy, jet-black volcanic glass that fractures into wickedly sharp conchoidal edges, sharp enough that surgeons and ancient toolmakers alike have used it as a blade. Polished into a sphere or slab, its surface becomes a true black mirror, and cultures from the Aztecs to the diviners of old Europe have gazed into it for exactly that reason.

There is something honest about Obsidian, and something a little dangerous. It is born of the earth’s violence, and it does not soften what it shows. To work with it is to accept that a mirror does not flatter.

Properties

Obsidian is the stone of truth and shadow work — a mirror held up to the psyche that reflects, without mercy or malice, whatever has been buried. Grounded at the root, it protects fiercely while it excavates, drawing suppressed grief, denial, and self-deception into the light where they can finally be met. It cuts through illusion and pretence, both one’s own and others’, which makes it a demanding ally: it heals by first insisting that you see.

In Practice

A polished obsidian mirror or sphere is used for scrying and for the slow, deliberate work of facing what one avoids — best approached gradually rather than all at once. Carried or placed at the feet, it grounds and shields. Because its work is intense, many pair it with a gentler heart stone and cleanse it often in running water or moonlight after difficult sessions.
