Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

Prometheus

Domain: Forethought, fire, craft, the champion of humanity Symbol: The stolen fire in the fennel stalk, the chain and the eagle, the potter's clay Roman Equivalent: Prometheus

Overview

Prometheus is the Titan who took the side of humanity against the gods. His name means "forethought," and he is the cleverest of his kind — a maker, a trickster, and a benefactor. In many tellings he shaped the first humans from clay; in all of them he is the one who gave them fire, and with it the beginnings of every craft and every hope of rising above the animals. He did this against the express will of Zeus, who had meant to keep humankind weak and dependent, and he paid for it with a punishment as famous as the gift. He is the archetype of the enlightener who suffers for what he brings — the one who steals the divine spark and is broken on the wheel of his own generosity.

He is defiant to the core. Even bound and tortured he refuses to bow, keeping the one secret Zeus most wants from him. If there is a patron of stubborn, self-sacrificing conscience in Greek myth, it is Prometheus.

Key Myths

The theft of fire. Zeus withheld fire from mortals; Prometheus stole it back, hiding an ember in the hollow of a fennel stalk and carrying it down to humankind. With fire came warmth, metalwork, cooking, and the whole apparatus of civilization — every art and every technology traced back to that one act of theft. It is the founding gift of human culture, given by a god who broke the rules to give it.

The trick at Mecone. At a feast dividing the sacrifice between gods and men, Prometheus wrapped the good meat in an ox's unappetizing stomach and the bare bones in glistening fat, then let Zeus choose. Zeus took the fat-covered bones — and so, ever after, men kept the meat and burned the bones for the gods. The deception is why Prometheus is a trickster and not merely a martyr.

The chained Titan. For his defiance Zeus had Prometheus bound to a crag in the Caucasus, where each day an eagle tore out his liver and each night it grew back, an agony without end. He endured it rather than surrender his secret — that a certain union would produce a son greater than his father. Ages later Heracles shot the eagle and freed him. His torment is the price of the gift, and the reason he stands for every sacrifice made on behalf of those who cannot repay it.
