The reason it's not been released as opensource is because we feel most of the code in there is specific to the way we wanted it to work and not too many people will find it useful without heavily modifying it. And designing it to be easily configurable would have been far more trouble than worth especially performance-wise. Plus we don't have the rights to the UI design. You can post classifieds in any second level cateogory. For each category there are rules defined. And each has possible purposes: sell, buy, rent or in a lost/found category lost, found etc. For each combination of these you have different validation rules for the form like if I want to sell something in the houses category I can enter price, images point on a map etc. If I want to buy a house there's no point so these fields are not allowed.
