Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes, 67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer. - scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault: slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion list plus a privacy guard. - tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note (capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other pages get a Related Knowledge block. - Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Single Stroke Seven

## The Rudiment
The single stroke seven extends the idea of the single stroke four into a longer run: seven alternating single strokes that build across a beat or two and land on a final accent. It is a burst of the single stroke roll with a defined length and a clear resolution, giving the drummer a larger canvas to develop even, rapid singles that arrive precisely on the pulse. The odd number means the pattern ends on the same hand it began, then repeats from the opposite hand when strung together.

## Sticking
The standard sticking is seven alternating strokes leading to an accent: **RLRLRLR** with weight on the seventh note, or the mirror **LRLRLRL**. The seven strokes are commonly played as a septuplet across one beat, or as a group of six fast notes plus the accented arrival — either way the ear hears a smooth run gathering into a single strong landing. Describe it as seven even singles resolving onto the beat if the exact subdivision is in question.

## How to Play
Keep all six leading strokes low and matched between the hands so the run sounds seamless, then raise the stick and drive the final note for the accent. The motion lives mostly in the fingers and wrist at speed, staying loose throughout; any tension in the leading strokes will make the run uneven and rob the accent of its snap. Practice it starting from each hand.

## In Practice
The single stroke seven is a staple fill and solo figure, common in jazz, fusion, and rudimental drumming where a longer single-stroke burst is needed to reach a downbeat. It completes the single-stroke family alongside the [Single Stroke Roll](/knowledge/music/drum-rudiments/single-stroke-roll) and the [Single Stroke Four](/knowledge/music/drum-rudiments/single-stroke-four).
