kennethreitz ce93f429a2 Add Knowledge: the vault's reference shelf, crosslinked across the site
Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Geb
**Domain**: The earth, vegetation, earthquakes, the underworld’s ceiling
**Symbol**: The goose, green skin, the reclining earth-body, growing plants
---
## Overview
Geb is the earth given a body — a god who lies beneath the sky the way the land lies beneath the heavens, often depicted reclining green-skinned along the ground while his wife [Nut](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/nut) arches above him. He is the soil that grows the barley, the ground that holds the dead, the solid foundation on which the whole world rests. His laughter, the Egyptians said, was earthquakes; the earth trembling was the god beneath it shifting in mirth or grief. Vegetation sprouted from his back, and so he was shown with plants growing along his reclining form, the living crops rooted in the flesh of the god.
He is son of Shu and Tefnut, brother and husband to Nut, and father of the great generation: [Osiris](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/osiris), [Isis](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/isis), [Set](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/set), and [Nephthys](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/nephthys). As an ancestor of the ruling gods he was closely tied to kingship — the throne of the living pharaoh was sometimes called the “throne of Geb,” the right to rule descending from the earth-father himself. Where Nut is the mother above, Geb is the father below: patient, fertile, foundational, the ground under everyone’s feet.

## Key Myths
**Separated from Nut.** Geb loved [Nut](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/nut) so completely that the two lay locked together, earth pressed to sky with no space between. Their father Shu, the air, forced himself into the gap and lifted Nut high overhead, leaving Geb stretched out below, reaching up toward a wife he could never again hold. The separation of earth and sky — and the world that fills the space between — is the enduring shape of their thwarted love.
**Father of the gods.** On the five days out of time, Nut bore Geb’s children: [Osiris](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/osiris), [Isis](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/isis), [Set](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/set), and [Nephthys](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/nephthys). From this generation descended the whole drama of Egyptian myth — the murder of Osiris, the vengeance of Horus, the endless contest of order and chaos. Geb is the root of that family tree, the earth from which the divine dynasty grew.
**The judge and the throne.** In the contest between [Horus](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/horus) and [Set](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/set) for the kingship, Geb sat among the gods who judged the claim, and the rulership of Egypt was framed as his inheritance to bestow. His earthquakes and his fertility alike marked him as a power kings needed on their side — the very land agreeing to hold up a throne.
