kennethreitz ce93f429a2 Add Knowledge: the vault's reference shelf, crosslinked across the site
Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Humility
> *Humility is not thinking less of yourself. It is thinking of yourself accurately.*

## Where It Belongs
Humility leads the seven heavenly virtues — the remedial list, one medicine per deadly sin — and it leads for the same reason its opposite leads the sins: as pride is the root of every vice, humility is the soil of every virtue. The monastic tradition made it structural; Benedict's Rule devotes its longest chapter to a twelve-runged ladder of humility, and Bernard of Clairvaux called it the foundation on which charity is built. It appears on no Greek list — the classical world found it baffling, a virtue for slaves — which is precisely what made it Christianity's most distinctive moral invention.
## What It Is
The word descends from *humus*, earth: humility is being the size you actually are, standing on the ground that is actually there. It is not self-deprecation, which is often pride running in reverse — still obsessed with the self, still performing for the audience. The humble person has achieved something rarer: accurate self-assessment held without flinching, the ability to be corrected without collapse, to owe without resentment, to be contingent without shame. Chesterton's test still works — the humble man is not the one who thinks poorly of himself, but the one who has stopped thinking about himself and is therefore free to be interested in everything else.
## The Sin It Answers
Humility is the remedy for [Pride](/knowledge/virtues-and-vices/seven-deadly-sins/pride) — the refusal to depend, the claim to be one's own source. On Dante's first terrace the proud carry stones that bend them toward the earth, *humus*, until the posture of accuracy becomes native. The cure is not humiliation; it is gravity, honestly obeyed.
