Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes, 67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer. - scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault: slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion list plus a privacy guard. - tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note (capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other pages get a Related Knowledge block. - Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

## The Rudiment
The drag — also called the ruff — is to the drag family what the flam is to the flams: the seed of everything that follows. Where a flam sets one grace note ahead of the primary, a drag sets two. Those two quiet strokes are played tight together, usually as a controlled double or light buzz, landing just before the accented note so the ear hears a little “brrr-tap.” It is a note with a running start.
The tightness of those grace notes is everything. Played crisp and close, they thicken the primary with a short crushed roll; played loose, they smear into mud.
## Sticking
The standard PAS sticking alternates: **llR** then **rrL**. The two lowercase strokes are the grace notes — a double taken by the hand opposite the primary — and the uppercase stroke is the accented note they lead into. So a right-hand drag is a quick left-left before a strong right, and the left-hand drag mirrors it. The grace notes are unmeasured ornaments crushed in ahead of the beat.
## How to Play
Keep the two grace notes low to the head and let them rebound as a controlled double rather than trying to play them as two separate deliberate strokes — that control is what keeps the drag crisp at speed. The primary lifts high and carries the accent. As with the flam, the height difference between the low grace hand and the high accent hand is what guarantees clean, consistent timing.

## In Practice
Drags color everything from orchestral snare writing to jazz comping, where a ruff ahead of a note adds weight and character. They are the foundation of the entire drag family — the single and double drag taps, the ratamacues, and Lesson 25 all begin here — so time spent on a clean drag pays off across the whole tradition.
