Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes, 67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer. - scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault: slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion list plus a privacy guard. - tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note (capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other pages get a Related Knowledge block. - Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

## Overview
Anubis is the jackal-headed god of embalming and the guide of the dead — the one who receives the soul at the threshold and leads it into the world beyond. Black-furred like the fertile silt and the color of the resurrected body, he presides over mummification, the craft by which the dead are preserved for their journey. The jackals that haunted the desert cemeteries at the edge of the living world became, in him, not scavengers of the dead but their protector and escort.

Before [Osiris](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/osiris) rose to rule the afterlife, Anubis was its older lord; afterward he became the faithful attendant of the judgment, the psychopomp who conducts each soul to the Hall of Two Truths. There he sets the heart of the deceased upon the scale and weighs it against the feather of truth, an impartial hand at the fulcrum between eternity and oblivion. He is the tarot's [Death](/knowledge/tarot/major-arcana/death) in its truest office: not the killer but the guide, the steward of the passage, the figure who stands at the one-way door and shows the way through.

## Key Myths
**The first embalming.** When [Set](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/set) murdered and dismembered [Osiris](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/osiris), it was Anubis who, aided by [Isis](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/isis) and [Nephthys](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/nephthys), wrapped and preserved the body — performing the first mummification and inventing the rites of embalming. Every embalmer who followed worked in his role, wearing his jackal mask over the dead.
**The weighing of the heart.** In the Hall of Two Truths, Anubis leads the deceased before the scales and places the heart against the feather of Ma'at. If the heart is light and true, the soul passes on to [Osiris](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/osiris); if it is heavy with wrongdoing, the devourer waits. He is the steady hand that holds the balance level.
**The guide of souls.** Anubis meets the dead at the threshold and conducts them through the dangers of the underworld to the place of judgment. He does not decide the verdict — he ensures the soul arrives to receive it.
