Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Seven Stroke Roll
> *Three diddles into a landing.*
---
## The Rudiment
The seven stroke roll adds one diddle to the five stroke roll, stretching the sustained part slightly longer before it resolves onto its accent. Three double strokes roll into a single terminating tap, producing a fuller, more weighted roll that still punctuates cleanly on the beat. It is a classic rudimental figure — long enough to sound like a genuine roll, short enough to place with precision.
## Sticking
The standard sticking is three doubles plus an accent — seven strokes: **RRLL RR L**, accent on the final note, then reversed as **LLRR LL R**. The six rolled notes are played as clean doubles leading up to the accented seventh, which lands on the beat. Because it ends on the opposite hand from where a five stroke roll would, stringing rolls together requires attention to which hand leads.
## How to Play
Keep the three diddles tight, low, and even — closed for a smooth sustained sound, open for rudimental definition — then raise and drive the seventh stroke for the accent. The evenness of that third double is where many players falter, so practice the roll open and slow before closing it. Play it leading with each hand to keep both sides fluent.
## In Practice
The seven stroke roll is a staple of orchestral and marching literature, jazz phrasing, and drum set fills that need a slightly longer accented roll than the five. It grows from the [Double Stroke Open Roll](/knowledge/music/drum-rudiments/double-stroke-open-roll) and sits between the [Five Stroke Roll](/knowledge/music/drum-rudiments/five-stroke-roll) and [Nine Stroke Roll](/knowledge/music/drum-rudiments/nine-stroke-roll) in the family of terminating rolls.
