Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Seven of Cups
> *Seven bright doors, and behind most of them, only more fog.*
---
## Imagery
A dark silhouette stands before seven cups that hover in a cloud, each brimming with a different vision: a face, a shrouded and glowing figure, a serpent, a castle, jewels, a wreath of victory, and a dragon. The figure raises hands in wonder or bewilderment, unable to tell which offering is real and which is phantom. The whole scene floats in unreality, a dreaming intoxication where desire projects itself into the air and multiplies. Nothing here has weight yet; everything is possibility, and therefore nothing is chosen.
## Upright
The Seven of Cups is illusion, fantasy, the seductive paralysis of too many choices. It marks wishful thinking, the fog of desire that mistakes glittering options for real ones, and the temptation to live among daydreams rather than commit to a single path. Some cups hold genuine treasure; others hold serpents and shrouded snares. The card asks for discernment — the difficult work of telling vision from delusion, of grounding the imagination before it dissipates entirely into smoke.
## Reversed
Inverted, the fog begins to lift. This can be clarity arriving at last, the return of focus and the decision to pursue one real cup rather than seven imagined ones. Alternatively it deepens the disorder — escapism hardening into addiction, the willful preference for fantasy over a reality one refuses to face. The reversal turns on whether you are waking from the dream or burrowing further into it, whether the cups are being sorted or simply multiplied.
## Correspondence
| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| **Element** | Water. |
| **Decan** | Venus in Scorpio — the third decan of Scorpio. |
| **Golden Dawn title** | the Lord of Illusory Success, traditionally Debauch. Venus’s allure clouded by Scorpio’s intensity, pleasure dissolving into mirage. |
## Archetype
This is the realm of projection, where the unconscious throws its contents onto the screen of the world and the ego mistakes them for objective fact. Jung warned that unexamined fantasy governs us precisely because we do not recognize it as ours. The seven cups are complexes, desires, and fears made luminous and confusing. Discernment — withdrawing projections, learning which longing is soul and which is glamour — is the alchemical labor the card demands on the road to [Individuation](/knowledge/psychology/jungian/individuation).
## Mythological Echoes
The floating visions recall the enchantments of Circe and the lotus-eaters, whose sweetness dissolved the will to go home. They echo maya, the Vedic veil of appearance that mistakes the shimmering many for the real One — a theme central to [Vedanta](/knowledge/spirituality/vedanta). The card summons every myth of the sorcerer’s illusion, the fairy gold that turns to leaves at dawn, the tempting mirage in the desert that recedes as one approaches.
## In Practice
When this card appears, name your options honestly and ask which are real. Journal on a fantasy you have been feeding — and what single, grounded step would test whether it holds water.
