kennethreitz ce93f429a2 Add Knowledge: the vault's reference shelf, crosslinked across the site
Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Seven of Wands
> *One man on the high ground, six staves rising against him, and only his own nerve to hold the line.*
---
## Imagery
A lone figure stands on a rise, wielding a single wand defensively while six other wands thrust up at him from below, out of the frame, held by unseen assailants. He is braced, one foot forward, his expression set. A curious detail undercuts his valour — his shoes do not match, as if he armed himself in haste and improvised his footing. The higher ground is his one clear advantage. The composition pits the solitary defender against a rising tide of opposition, and the feeling is embattled resolve: outnumbered but not yet overcome.
## Upright
The Seven of Wands is the courage to defend your position against pressure. Having won the acclaim of the Six, you now must hold what you have gained; success attracts challengers, and conviction is tested precisely when it has something to lose. This card speaks of standing your ground, of perseverance under criticism, of the willingness to fight for a belief or a boundary even when outnumbered. Its advantage is the high ground of the well-founded stance. The invitation is to hold firm without hardening into mere stubbornness — to defend what genuinely matters.
## Reversed
Reversed, the defence falters. Overwhelm sets in; the constant need to justify oneself becomes exhausting, and the figure is tempted to abandon the hill. It can mark defensiveness that has lost the thread of what it protects, self-doubt eroding a once-firm stance, or the wisdom of finally standing down from a fight not worth the cost. The shadow is either capitulation or the reflexive combativeness that guards a position long after it stopped being worth guarding.
## Correspondence
| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| **Element** | Fire. |
| **Decan** | Mars in Leo, the third decan of Leo — Mars lending martial force to Leo's proud fire. The Golden Dawn titled this card Valour: courage, defence, the strength that holds a position against odds. |
## Archetype
This is the psyche defending the ground of its own becoming against the pressures of collective opinion. Jung's [Individuation](/knowledge/psychology/jungian/individuation) demands exactly this valour — the willingness to hold an inner truth when the many push back. The card is the moral courage that keeps faith with the self under siege, aligned with the quiet, inward mastery of [Strength](/knowledge/tarot/major-arcana/strength), which subdues opposition not by brute force but by unbroken conviction.
## Mythological Echoes
The card carries the spirit of the last stand — Horatius at the bridge, the lone defender of the pass, the hero who holds while others flee. It echoes every myth of the outnumbered champion whose refusal to yield becomes itself a kind of victory, and the fierce protectiveness of guardian figures who stand between the vulnerable and the horde.
## In Practice
When this card appears, ask what you are defending and whether it is truly yours to guard. Valour is precious; wasted on trifles it becomes mere quarrelsomeness. Journal on the hill you are standing on — is it worth the climb, and are you still sure why you took it?
