Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Six of Pentacles
> *The scales are honest, but they weigh the giver as surely as the gift.*
---
## Imagery
A robed merchant stands between two kneeling beggars, dropping coins into the outstretched hand of one while holding a golden balance-scale aloft in the other. His clothing is fine; theirs is ragged. The scale is the card's quiet centre — a claim that this giving is measured, weighed, just. Yet the composition raises its own question, for the merchant stands and the poor kneel, and the flow of coin runs only one way. Six pentacles hover in the upper field. The image holds both genuine charity and the uneasy geometry of power that so often shadows it.
## Upright
The Six of Pentacles is the card of generosity and its circulation — giving and receiving, charity, patronage, the flow of resources from those who have to those who need. Drawn upright it speaks of material success shared, of debts repaid and kindness extended, of a moment when abundance moves rather than pools. But the scale asks for discernment. Is the giving free or transactional? Does it empower or entrench dependence? At its best the card describes the healthy circulation of wealth through a community; at its edge it names the subtle contract hidden inside every gift.
## Reversed
Reversed, the balance tips. The card can show generosity gone sour — strings attached, charity that humiliates, gifts that purchase control. It may point to debts unpaid, to the recipient trapped in obligation, or to a giver who gives to be seen rather than to help. Alternatively it marks the person always on the kneeling side, unable to receive without shame or to break a cycle of dependence. The just scale becomes a rigged one.

## Archetype
Here the psyche meets the economy of the gift, and Jung's insight that what we give and what we withhold both shape the soul. The scale is an image of psychic justice, the ongoing work of balancing what flows in against what flows out. But the card also exposes the shadow of the benefactor — the way generosity can become a subtle bid for superiority, the ego dispensing rather than sharing. True circulation, like the individuating Self, dissolves the fixed roles of giver and receiver; today's merchant may kneel tomorrow, and the wheel of [fortune](/knowledge/tarot/major-arcana/wheel-of-fortune) turns for all.
## Mythological Echoes
The image recalls Saint Martin dividing his cloak for the freezing beggar, the Boddhisattva ideal of dana or selfless giving, and the potlatch traditions in which status was won by giving wealth away rather than hoarding it. Everywhere the sacred gift carries a double edge — the Greek word xenia bound host and guest in mutual obligation, and the myths warn that a gift given for power curses both hands it passes between.
## In Practice
When this card appears, look at the direction of flow in your life and the strings that travel with it. Notice whether you give to help or to hold. Journal: where am I the merchant, where the beggar, and what would it mean to let the scale come honestly to rest?
