Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes, 67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer. - scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault: slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion list plus a privacy guard. - tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note (capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other pages get a Related Knowledge block. - Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

Qian is the pure yang trigram: three solid, unbroken lines, ☰, without a single break to interrupt the flow of the giving. Where every other figure carries at least one yin line — some concession, some hollow — Qian is undivided force, and so it stands for **Heaven**, the vault of sky that arches over everything and asks nothing back. It is the Creative, the primal energy that initiates rather than responds, strong the way daylight is strong: not by pushing but simply by being present everywhere at once.
Its action is origination — the impulse that begins, the will that decides a thing shall be. In the family of the eight, Qian is the **Father**, the generative principle from which the other trigrams take their descent. It is the nearest the East comes to the Western [element](/knowledge/elements) of Fire in its highest register, the pure active fire that is closer to Aether than to any burning thing — spirit rather than flame.
In the ideal **Earlier Heaven** arrangement of Fu Xi, Qian sits at the very top, at the south, facing its exact opposite [Kun](/knowledge/trigrams/kun) at the bottom — heaven above, earth below, the cosmos in perfect poise. In the **Later Heaven** arrangement of King Wen it moves to the **Northwest**, its power now working within the turning world rather than presiding over it from above. In divination Qian speaks of tremendous creative energy available to one who can wield it — leadership, initiative, the pure light of a beginning — with the standing warning that force undirected exhausts itself and dominates where it meant to father.
