Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes, 67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer. - scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault: slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion list plus a privacy guard. - tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note (capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other pages get a Related Knowledge block. - Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Fifteen Stroke Roll

## The Rudiment
The fifteen stroke roll is among the longest of the measured rolls, seven double strokes rolling into a single accented tap. It sustains across most of a measure, producing a full, singing roll that resolves onto its accent with authority. At this length the rudiment is as much a study in endurance, relaxation, and pacing as it is in stroke mechanics — the diddles must stay even across a long span before the final note closes the figure.
## Sticking
The standard sticking is seven doubles plus a terminating accent — fifteen strokes: **RRLL RRLL RRLL RR L**, accent on the final note, then reversed as **LLRR LLRR LLRR LL R**. The fourteen rolled notes are played as even doubles, closed into a smooth sustain or opened for definition, leading to the accented fifteenth stroke on the beat. Ending on the opposite hand from where it began, the lead alternates as it repeats.

## How to Play
Long rolls live or die on relaxation — keep the seven diddles low and loose so the sustain stays dense and even, resisting the urge to tense up and rush as the count climbs. Regulate the rebound with the fingers, let the wrists stay soft, and drive only the final stroke for the accent. Practicing open and slow before closing is essential to keep every second stroke honest across fourteen notes.

## In Practice
The fifteen stroke roll appears in advanced rudimental solos, marching literature, and orchestral passages needing a long sustained roll with a decisive resolution. It follows the [Thirteen Stroke Roll](/knowledge/music/drum-rudiments/thirteen-stroke-roll) and sits just before the [Seventeen Stroke Roll](/knowledge/music/drum-rudiments/seventeen-stroke-roll), the longest in the standard family.
