Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes, 67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer. - scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault: slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion list plus a privacy guard. - tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note (capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other pages get a Related Knowledge block. - Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

## Overview
Set is the god of chaos, storms, and the barren desert — the disruptive force at the edge of every ordered thing. Where [Osiris](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/osiris) is the black fertile silt of the Nile valley, Set is the red land beyond it: the wasteland, the sandstorm, the violence that comes from outside. He is not evil in the simple sense; older Egypt honored him as the mighty defender who rode in the prow of [Ra](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/ra)'s barque and speared the chaos-serpent Apep each night. Strength and disorder are the same power in him, turned to different ends.

But his defining act is fratricide — the murder of his brother Osiris out of envy for the throne — and this makes him the tarot's darker teachers. He is [The Devil](/knowledge/tarot/major-arcana/the-devil): bondage, envy, the shadow appetite that consumes what it cannot possess. And he is [The Tower](/knowledge/tarot/major-arcana/the-tower): sudden violent upheaval, the storm that shatters the settled order, the catastrophe that tears down what was built. His long war with his nephew [Horus](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/horus) is the necessary friction against which legitimate order defines itself. A cosmos without Set would have no serpent to spear and no throne worth fighting for.

## Key Myths
**The murder of Osiris.** Envious of his brother's kingship, Set tricked [Osiris](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/osiris) into a chest cut to his exact measure, sealed him inside, and drowned him in the Nile — later tearing the recovered body into pieces and scattering them across the land. It is the crime from which the whole Osirian myth unfolds.
**The contendings with Horus.** For eighty years Set fought [Horus](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/horus) for the throne of Egypt, through trials before the gods and open combat. He tore out one of Horus's eyes; Horus in turn unmanned him. The gods judged against Set in the end, and the desert god was cast to the margins — the loser whose strength is real but whose claim is not.
**The defender of the sun.** For all his violence, Set stood in the barque of [Ra](/knowledge/mythology/egyptian-mythology/ra) and drove back the serpent Apep who threatened to swallow the sun each night. His chaos, aimed outward at greater chaos, is what keeps the dawn coming — the storm enlisted against the void.
