Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes, 67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer. - scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault: slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion list plus a privacy guard. - tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note (capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other pages get a Related Knowledge block. - Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Cronus

**Domain**: Time, the harvest, the ruling Titan
**Symbol**: The sickle (or scythe), the grain

**Roman Equivalent**: Saturn

## Overview
Cronus is the youngest and boldest of the Titans, the son of [Gaia](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/gaia) and [Uranus](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/uranus) who overthrew his father and ruled the cosmos in the age before the Olympians — a span the Greeks remembered, paradoxically, as a Golden Age. He carries the sickle with which he unseated Uranus, and in later tradition he blurs into *Chronos*, Time itself: the power that harvests everything it brings to ripeness.
He is the hinge of the cosmogony — the son who ends his father's reign and then, in trying to keep his own, becomes the father who must be ended.

## Key Myths
**Devouring his children.** Warned by [Gaia](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/gaia) and [Uranus](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/uranus) that one of his own children would overthrow him, Cronus swallowed each as [Rhea](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/rhea) bore them — [Hera](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/hera), [Demeter](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/demeter), [Hestia](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/hestia), [Hades](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/hades), and [Poseidon](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/poseidon) all consumed at birth. It is the starkest image in the cosmogony of a power that would rather destroy the future than be replaced by it.
**The stone and the fall.** Rhea hid the infant [Zeus](/knowledge/mythology/greek-mythology/zeus) and gave Cronus a swaddled stone to swallow instead. Grown in secret, Zeus forced his father to disgorge the others, and in the ten-year Titanomachy the Olympians cast Cronus and the Titans down into Tartarus — the prophecy fulfilled exactly as Cronus had fulfilled it against Uranus.
