Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes, 67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer. - scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault: slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion list plus a privacy guard. - tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note (capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other pages get a Related Knowledge block. - Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

Resistance
The patient seeks help but fights the process.
The paradox at the heart of psychoanalysis: you come to therapy to change, but the unconscious doesn't want to be found. Resistance is everything the patient does — consciously or not, but usually not — to block the work. Freud discovered it the moment he stopped hypnotizing patients and asked them to remember directly: the same force that had originally pushed the painful material out of consciousness (repression) now pushed back against its recovery in treatment. Resistance is repression caught in the act, defending its old work in real time.
It shows up as missed or late sessions, "forgotten" appointments, convenient forgetfulness about dreams, sudden silence, intellectualizing instead of feeling, arguing with interpretations, flooding the hour with trivia, changing the subject just as it gets close, or the suspicious "flight into health" — getting mysteriously better right when the difficult material is surfacing. Later analysts, following Wilhelm Reich, added character resistance: not a single act but the patient's whole habitual manner — the perpetual charmer, the compulsive skeptic, the good student — functioning as armor against exposure.
Freud's insight, and the one that turned resistance from an obstacle into a tool: resistance IS the material. You do not bulldoze it; you analyze it. The places the psyche defends most vigorously are the places that matter most. The locked door is more interesting than the open ones. What the patient won't talk about, and the exact manner in which they avoid it, is more diagnostic than anything they volunteer. So the analyst's task is not to force the door but to point out that it is being held shut, and to wonder aloud, with the patient, what is on the other side — the slow labor Freud named "working through."
This applies far beyond therapy. Kenneth's essay Don't Read the Comments describes a kind of resistance — the compulsion to read criticism despite knowing it's harmful, the way the psyche circles back to its wound. The Cost Of Transparency documents institutional resistance — systems that claim to welcome honesty but punish it in practice.
In System 777, resistance manifests as compartmentalization itself. Parts that won't co-front. Memories that are "lost, even to Eliza." The system protects itself by restricting access between parts — which is both defense mechanism and survival strategy.
