kennethreitz ce93f429a2 Add Knowledge: the vault's reference shelf, crosslinked across the site
Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# The Sun · XIX
> *Joy is not the absence of the night; it is the child who walked out the other side of it.*

## Imagery
A great sun with a serene human face fills the sky, its straight and wavy rays alternating like light and warmth. Beneath it, a naked child rides a white horse bareback, arms open, crowned with flowers and trailing a red banner. Behind them a wall bears four tall sunflowers turned toward the light. The child needs neither saddle nor reins; there is nothing to fear here and nothing to hide. After the confusion of [The Moon](/knowledge/tarot/major-arcana/the-moon), everything is clear, warm, and unashamed. The card radiates the simplest and most complete happiness — vitality, innocence regained, the world seen in full daylight.
## Upright
The Sun is joy, clarity, and vitality — success made warm and life lived without concealment. It is the dawn after the moonlit passage, consciousness fully restored and the truth of things plainly lit. Upright, the card counsels wholehearted presence, gratitude, and the confidence of a self that has nothing left to prove or hide. It promises warmth, health, and the return of a hard-won innocence. To draw it is to be told that the way is open and the light is good, and that you are allowed, at last, to simply be glad.
## Reversed
Reversed, the sun dims but does not set. The card can mean a temporary clouding of joy, a success delayed, or a happiness held at arm’s length by doubt. Inverted, it may reveal a forced cheerfulness that hides real feeling, an inflated optimism, or a difficulty in receiving the good that is genuinely present. It rarely turns dark; more often it asks why you will not let yourself feel the warmth that is already shining.
## Correspondence
| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| **Luminary** | the Sun, source, consciousness, and the centre of the sky. |
| **Hebrew letter** | Resh: ר, the head, the face turned toward the light. |
| **Tree of Life path** | Path 30, joining Hod to Yesod, splendour to foundation. |
## Archetype
The Sun is the Divine Child reborn in daylight — the archetype of renewed wholeness after the night-sea journey, closely bound to [The Self](/knowledge/psychology/jungian/the-self) as the radiant centre of the psyche. Where the Fool’s innocence was untested, the child of the Sun has passed through the dark of the Moon and emerged luminous and integrated. Jung saw the sun as an image of consciousness itself, and the solar child as the promise of a self made new: spontaneous, unguarded, and whole. It is joy earned rather than merely given.
## Mythological Echoes
He is every solar deity — Apollo, Ra, Sol Invictus, Helios driving the golden chariot across the day. He echoes the divine children of myth, the miraculous births that renew the world, the dawn that conquers the dragon of night. The white horse is the sun’s own steed; the sunflowers are the souls that turn always toward the source. Every tradition that greets the returning sun as a resurrection is telling this card’s story.
## In Practice
When the Sun appears, the reading turns toward joy, clarity, and the full daylight of being seen. Journalling prompt: where in your life is the light already good, and are you letting yourself feel it? What would it mean to ride out bareback and unguarded, with nothing to hide and nothing to fear?
