Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Four of Pentacles
> *He holds so tightly that his hands are no longer free to receive.*
---
## Imagery
A seated figure crowned with a pentacle clutches a second coin to his chest with both arms, while two more are pinned beneath his feet. Behind him rises the silhouette of a town — the wealth he guards and the community he has withdrawn from. He does not smile. His grip is total: crown, heart, and both soles engaged in holding, leaving nothing loose. The posture is stable and utterly closed, a man who has confused security with rigidity, ownership with peace. It is one of the most bodily cards in the deck, an entire nervous system organised around not letting go.
## Upright
The Four of Pentacles is the card of holding on — of security achieved and then defended past the point of reason. It shows control, stability, and the very real comfort of having enough, alongside the shadow that shadows all accumulation: the fear of loss that turns a home into a fortress. Drawn upright, it can affirm boundaries, savings, and consolidation, but it more often asks a question. What are you gripping so hard that you have stopped being able to move, to give, or to grow? Earthly power, here, has begun to calcify into stasis.
## Reversed
Reversed, the grip either releases or tightens to the breaking point. At its best the card inverted signals a loosening — generosity returning, spending unclenched, the willingness to risk security for something more alive. At its worst it deepens the miser's paralysis into outright greed, financial anxiety, or a materialism that has crowded out every softer value. Loss suffered, or loss so feared that life is spent guarding against it.
## Correspondence
| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| **Element** | Earth. Astrological decan: Sun in Capricorn. Golden Dawn title: the Lord of Earthly Power — the Sun's vitality fixed and consolidated by Capricorn into structure, boundary, and hold. |
## Archetype
This is the ego identified with its possessions, mistaking having for being. Jung would see the clutched coins as psychic energy dammed rather than allowed to flow, libido frozen into the persona of the man of substance. It is a portrait of The Shadow that attends all mastery of the material — the fear beneath the fortune. Individuation asks the ego to loosen its grip on what it has secured so that the deeper Self can circulate; the crowned miser is the cautionary image of a soul that stopped the flow.
## Mythological Echoes
He is Midas after the wish, gold answering his every touch until the world turns inedible and his daughter to metal. He is the dragon coiled on its hoard in the northern sagas, wealth that has consumed its owner. He echoes Ebenezer Scrooge before the spirits, and every myth in which a treasure guarded too jealously becomes a curse rather than a blessing.
## In Practice
When this card appears, notice where you are clenched — with money, but also with control, opinions, or love. Security is real; rigidity is its counterfeit. Journal: what am I holding so tightly that my hands can no longer receive, and what would one small act of letting go cost me?
