Publish the Obsidian vault's Knowledge folder as /knowledge (881 notes,
67 folders), with a Knowledge item in the nav and footer.

- scripts/import_knowledge.py regenerates data/knowledge from the vault:
slugged paths, folder notes as index pages, wikilinks resolved to site
links (or plain text), callouts, highlights, and Dataview tables
rendered statically. Personal notes are withheld via an exclusion
  list plus a privacy guard.
- tuftecms/core/knowledge.py builds a concept index from note titles and
aliases. First mentions on ordinary pages link to their Knowledge note
(capped, never in headings, code, links, or sidenotes); Knowledge pages
list related notes and where they're mentioned across the site; other
pages get a Related Knowledge block.
- Knowledge URLs join sitemap.xml (so the sweep test covers them), never
displace existing legacy slugs, list alphabetically, and mermaid
diagrams render client-side only on pages that have them.

# Three of Pentacles
> *No cathedral was ever raised by a single pair of hands.*
---
## Imagery
In the arch of an unfinished church, a young sculptor stands on a bench, mallet in hand, pausing in his work. Below him two figures consult a plan — a monk or architect holding the drawings and a hooded patron beside him. The three attend to one another: the craftsman's skill, the designer's vision, the sponsor's means. Above them three pentacles are carved into the stone tracery, integral to the structure rather than laid upon it. The scene is cool, deliberate, collaborative — labour that has become architecture, the moment individual talent submits to a shared and lasting design.
## Upright
The Three of Pentacles is the card of the working guild, of mastery recognised and put to collective use. It marks the transition from raw ability into skilled craft, the point where one's gifts are seen and valued by others and woven into something larger than oneself. Planning meets execution meets patronage. Drawn upright, it blesses collaboration, apprenticeship, and the humility to learn from those who hold the plans. It reminds us that competence flowers in relationship, and that the great works of a life are almost always built by many hands in concert.
## Reversed
Reversed, the collaboration falters. The card speaks of mediocrity, of effort ungrounded in real skill, of teams pulling against one another or a craftsman whose ego cannot bear correction. It can show the apprentice who will not learn, the patron who meddles, the plan ignored. Sometimes it points to unrecognised labour — good work done in the dark, its maker unseen and unthanked, the cathedral rising while the sculptor goes uncredited.
## Correspondence
| Attribute | Value |
| --- | --- |
| **Element** | Earth. Astrological decan: Mars in Capricorn. Golden Dawn title: the Lord of Material Works — Mars's driving energy disciplined by Capricorn into constructive, enduring labour. |
## Archetype
Here the psyche discovers that individuation is not solitary. The lone talent of the apprentice must be tempered in the guild, the personal gift offered up to a form that outlasts the maker. Jung understood the ego's work as service to something transpersonal; the cathedral is a mandala in stone, the [Self](/knowledge/psychology/jungian/the-self) being built collectively across generations. The three figures are three functions — vision, skill, and support — that no single person contains alone, and their cooperation is a small enactment of psychic integration.
## Mythological Echoes
The image belongs to the long lineage of the divine craftsman — Hephaestus at his forge, Daedalus the master builder, the masons of the medieval lodges who encoded wisdom in their vaulting. Across cultures the temple is raised as an act of collective devotion, from the guild traditions later drawn upon by Freemasonry to the anonymous carvers whose faces adorn the roof-bosses no one below will ever see.
## In Practice
When this card appears, your work is being witnessed, and it wants collaborators. Resist the urge to build alone. Journal: whose vision and whose support could turn my competent effort into something lasting — and what would I have to learn to accept them?
