It's biggest failure is that it was written as if it was factual without a clear enough disclaimer of it's fiction. So many people read it as a factual story which it was never meant to be. Super crazy. This paster is hired by a church and there is a dude who is not a member but he is part of the elders and he basically holds everyone in the town in fear. He tries to kill the paster for taking away his eldership (or control of the church) and finally succeeds in killing the wife after a few attempts over 5 years with bombs and assassins. Crazy stuff and according to the author who is the daugher, it's all true.
