For example, at a newspaper like the Washington Post, they might use Django for public facing news related sites, or internally for an intranet portal, or for internal employee related applications. But I bet their billing, purchasing and production systems aren't using Django or even Python. My advice to the colleague asking me the question, is probably to say that while one can write anything(?) in Django/Python, traditional platforms like Java/.NET are probably more \"acceptable\" to management for lob apps.
